Li Gan, Ph.D.

Dr. Li Gan is the Director of the Helen and Robert Appel Alzheimer’s Disease Research Institute at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she also serves as the Burton P. and Judith B. Resnick Distinguished Professor in Neurodegenerative Diseases. Throughout her career, Dr. Gan has been dedicated to advancing our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases, aiming to develop effective therapeutic strategies for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and Frontotemporal Dementia.

Before joining Weill Cornell, she was Senior Investigator and Associate Director at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease and Professor in Residence in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Dr. Gan earned her B.S. from Peking University and her Ph.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed postdoctoral training at Yale, Harvard Medical School, and the Gladstone Institutes at UCSF.
